A dressier dress does not need to be limited to special events, so don't save your favorite frock for when it's too dark to even see its details. Consider this post level 1 in adapting a night dress for day as there are many trickier dresses out there. The plunging neckline and intricate details of this For Love and Lemons dress make it perfect for a fancy party, but the color and light materials make it wearable for daytime too. Here I paired the dress with a denim jacket (one of the easiest additions to dress anything down), some black fishnet socks (a huge microtrend this past year), and some floral low-heeled sandals. Not comfortable with a lower neckline during the day? Put a visible bralette underneath or throw a tee over the dress and knot it at the waist. Take a look at the styling below with the occasional photobomb from Russell.

Dress: For Love and Lemons

Jacket: Pilcro from Anthropologie

Vintage Brooch

Shoes: Betsey Johnson

Socks cut from old fishnet tights
